What to expect...
During this engaging 90-minute session, children will:
Create Their Own Teddy Bear: Start the adventure by stuffing their very own teddy bear, making a cuddly new friend to join them on their learning journey.
Discover Ultrasound Technology: Learn about ultrasounds in a fun and interactive way. We’ll explore how doctors use this fascinating tool to see inside our bodies and how it helps keep us healthy.
Experience Real Ultrasound Scans: Each child will have the opportunity to be the sonographer, pretending to scan their teddy bear and, if they wish, actually scanning mum/dad/carer and themselves! It’s a great way to demystify medical equipment and procedures.
Record Heartbeats: Using real ultrasound equipment, we will record the child's heartbeat (if they want) and then safely embed the sound inside their teddy bear, creating a lasting memory and a heartbeat that can be heard anytime they hug their bear.
Educational Storytime: Enjoy a delightful read-along from our specially created storybook about ultrasounds, aimed at easing any worries about medical visits and highlighting the helpfulness of medical technology.
Creative Colouring Fun: Wrap up the workshop with some artistic expression as children colour in ultrasound-themed colouring sheets.
Important Details
Duration: The workshop lasts for 90 minutes, perfect for keeping young minds engaged without feeling overwhelmed.
Parental Attendance: Children 10 years and under - Parent/Carer is required to stay with their children throughout the session, ensuring a safe and supportive experience for everyone involved.

Statistics show that 1 in 5 children will require an ultrasound during their childhood. Our workshop is designed to be fun and creative, but also educational, exposing children to ultrasound and medical imaging in a gentle way. This early exposure aims to demystify the process, reducing anxiety if they ever need a scan in the future.
